Lonnie Bill Bishop peacefully passed away, at the age of 68, on January 11, 2018, after battling with cancer, while surrounded by his family.
Lonnie was born on July 25, 1949 to Herman Bishop and Beatrice Hyland in Haverhill, New Hampshire. He attended McCann High in North Adams, Massachusetts and at the young age of 17 he enlisted himself into the Army to serve in the Vietnam War. Lonnie married Chae on July 17th 1971 in Florida, Massachusetts (a small town near Adams) where they lived for a while before deciding to move to Fort Lauderdale in February 1973. Lonnie worked hard in the construction business, which he loved, for the next 40+ years, taking care of his family.
Lonnie was an avid golfer who took every chance he could to hit the greens. Even up to just a few weeks before his passing, he was on the golf course.
Lonnie was known as a jokester and the laughter he caused will be missed. He told tall tales and made wise cracks and never missed an opportunity to make you fall in love with him. His shining light will always be missed.
