It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Combos (formerly Lindória Carlos de Oliveira) announce her passing in her home in Tamarac, FL on February 12, 2018 at the age of 89. Linda was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Terry Combos, and her younger sister Leonidia Georgoulias. Linda is survived by her children, Spencer Combos (Debbie), Alex Combos (Jeanne), Maria Sneed (Kevin), and Doris Clarke (Chris) and her brother Sebastião (Francisca). Linda will be lovingly remembered by her 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and the rest of her family and friends. Linda Combos was born on October 14, 1928 in Bom Sucesso, Minas Gerais, Brazil to João Carlos de Oliveira and Josephina Carlos Maria de Jesus. She was the 14th of 16 children. In Brazil, she worked as a nurse in the emergency room and in labor and delivery.
While working in the hospital in 1954, she met and later married Terry Combos (Theodore Spiridion Komborozos) the next year in Belo Horizonte. Over the following three years, the couple welcomed two sons, Spencer and Alex. After moving to Athens, Greece in 1962, the couple welcomed their 3rd child Maria. Shortly thereafter, they moved to America and welcomed their 4th child Doris in 1968. Her children and grandchildren remember her as a being a great cook of both Greek and Brazilian food. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was passionate about gardening and watching sports, especially soccer and tennis. She spent time in her later years attending her grandchildrens' sporting events. Linda was a lifelong devout Catholic, with a special devotion to our blessed Mother. She was a dedicated member of St. Helen's Catholic Church. She also volunteered in her local community, the Mainlands.
