Carimi, Helen K., 84 of Lauderhill, FL, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017. Born in
love to Solomon and Sylvia Greenberg of Brooklyn, New York, August 29, 1932. A
loving mother, Helen cherished her four children, Ivan Marden (wife Carol),
Pamela Jannuzzi, Eve Woodard and Sanford Carimi (wife Alayne); grandchildren Hannah
Carimi, Gabriel Carimi, Heath Marden, Melissa Caley, Aaron Marden, Eric Thomas, Sarah
Woodard, Shaina Jannuzzi and Sarah Jane Michelson. She is further survived by six
great-grandchildren, dear life long friends and relatives, plus her beloved lap
In 1972, she married the love of her life, Sam J. Carimi, who promised to never stop
courting her. In keeping that promise they were blessed with 25 years of happiness
together. Theirs was a romance to which all should aspire. Sadly, Sam preceded her in
death in 1997. Helen will once again rejoin her love at Arlington Memorial National
Besides real life romance, Helen enjoyed theater, art, shopping and a good mystery
book. Helen came from a long lineage of artists' and loved to paint.
Helen was a District Manager for the Social Security Administration before retiring. She
had exceptional energy for teaching and training others and her kindness was widely
recognized. After retiring, Helen volunteered and began teaching adults to read as an
advocate for literacy.
Her compassion, wisdom, kindness and love will live on forever in those whom were
blessed to have known her.
A Celebration of Life for Helen will be Saturday, August 26th, 2017 at 6:00 pm at Baird
Case Funeral Home, 4701 N. State Road 7, Tamarac, FL. 33319.
Helen will be laid to rest with the love of her life, Sam J. Carimi in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. on April 17th, 2018.
