Rowena Samai, 93, passed away in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida on June 23rd, 2017. She was born on the island of Trinidad, West Indies and was affectionately known to family and friends as “Quinnie”. She is survived by two of her six children, Kenrick and John, fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces, extended family, friends and caregivers. She was a loving, devoted and dedicated daughter, wife, mother, aunt, grand and great-grandmother. She was the matriarch of our family who lived a Christ-like life. She gave unconditional love to all, anyone who were privileged to cross her path in life.
She made what must have been a difficult life, with limited means, a happy and stress-free life for her deceased children; Maureen, Eddy, Kenneth, Peter (Kelvin) and husband Samuel (Sookoo). She played a significant role impacting the lives of all her extended family members; the Rajahs, the Francis, the Kadaroos, the Dhuns and the Downers; who were all beneficiaries of her gently, loving kindness and caring manner. They loved and respected her and will miss her dearly.
Rowena, dear mother, rest in peace now, you are done with your work here. Enjoy your eternal life with our heavenly Father.
