Lorna Gilchrist

December 23, 1937 ~ July 5, 2017 (age 79)
Lorna (George) Gilchrist was born in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad on December 23, 1937 to Joseph and
Hilda George, she is the third of five children. Lorna was married to Byron Gilchrist for over 33
years, the love of her life who preceded her in death.

Lorna was known by several names: The Queen, The Tea Lady, The Dune, The Dictator, So What,
Mommy, and The Boss.

Lorna was a charming, charismatic, witty and straightforward lady who had a beautiful smile and
heart that was filled with love and generosity. Amongst other things, she was a role model
mentor, confidant, counselor who inspired many.
Her favorite quote was “live each day as your last one as nothing is promise to us”.
She loved life to the fullest and always encouraged everyone to set high standards.
Lorna’s faith was unwavering she believed to live in Christ is to Die in Christ and Heavens gain.
Lorna was a member of Presence Gathering Church under the Leadership of
Pastor Russell Tomlinson for over eleven years.

Lorna attended Nursing School in England and New York University where she obtained
Her professional Nursing Degree and worked for many years as a Registered Head Nurse.

She leaves to cherish all her memories five sons and one daughter:
Michael, Carol (Tommie), Marlon (Mersha), Steve (Aziza), Derrick (Angela)
Levi (Lesia.
Sisters: Myrna, Clothilda and Lelia.
Seven grandchildren: Astra, Keno, Ayinka, Mansa, Nefertari, Latisha, Jasmine.
Ten great-grandchildren.

Several nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and very close friends.

Thank you Mom for the opportunity to share your life, we will surely
miss your wisdom and cups of tea, Rest in Heaven and in Peace.
